Gaza's Roots Programs

Over the past two years, The Gaza’s Roots team has lost five members while they were carrying out their duties. Among them were dear colleagues who helped establish Gaza Roots — Hassan Eslaih, Mahmoud Issa, and Fatima Hassouna — whose legacy continues to inspire everything we do.

The heavier the workload becomes, the greater the pressure that comes with it. Those working in humanitarian fields must carry these immense burdens without letting them break the spirit of the work we’ve built together with care, love, and dedication.

We are the Gaza’s Roots. Our field team, made up mostly of journalists, works across all areas in the Gaza Strip to coordinate and deliver assistance where it’s most needed.

This initiative started even before the recent conflict. As a journalist walking through neighborhoods, I often met people facing life-threatening challenges that could be solved with just a small amount of help. Although journalism is not about aid work, people always turned to us — believing that when we share their voices, we also open the door for others who wish to help.

That’s how we decided not to only report hardship people in Gaza face in their daily life, but to be part of the solution. With our voices and a global community that cares deeply about the people of Gaza, we’ve been able to provide small but vital resources that make a real difference in people’s daily lives.

Over the past two years, our team has delivered more than 300,000 meals through the ‘Gaza Food Program.’ Provided winter essentials for newborns through ‘Newborn Care Program.’ Supplied mobile homes (caravans) for families living in tents during winter through the ‘Gaza Housing Program,’ and now we are preparing our fourth project — supporting ‘Martyers’ Families,’ by providing for their food, clothing, school sponsership and daily needs.

Gaza's Roots team destrubuting meals to displaced families in Central Gaza.
We also – as journalists—have contacts in the Gaza’s Health Ministry, and we provided pationts and injured people in hospitals with assential meals during the famine, we still work in hospitals.

This is a massive effort — one that requires care, trust, and strong commitment.

We’d like to clarify that all donations are only delivered to Gaza through this link, and that Gaza Roots has no active fundraising accounts or individuals authorized to collect donations on its behalf.

We are growing because of your trust — and we want to honor that with full responsibility.

Thank you for standing with people of Gaza, and stay close — new events are always coming soon.

We are now launching this campaign as Gaza’s Roots, in order to centralize our efforts and keep track of all the work we are doing with our teams in Gaza.
